Frozen Shoulder

P.R., a 52-year-old female who worked in a kitchen, sought my help due to severe shoulder pain and limited range of motion. She was unable to lift her arm or undress herself without difficulty.

To address her condition, I utilized a specialized technique that combined Acupuncture and Tui Na massage simultaneously. Remarkably, after the very first treatment, she experienced significant improvement and regained the ability to dress herself. Additionally, I provided her with self-exercises to perform at home. After just five sessions, her pain completely disappeared, and her shoulder movement returned to normal.

It is worth noting that I have been successfully treating frozen shoulder cases for the past 20 years. Acupuncture and Tui Na massage have consistently yielded positive results in such cases. Last year, I came across a new Tui Na technique in a Chinese medicine journal. Putting it to the test, I discovered that it significantly increased the success rate in treating frozen shoulder. This experience serves as a reminder that there is always something new to learn and incorporate into my practice.

Whiplash/Neck Pain/Shoulder Pain

H.K., a 39-year-old taxi driver, experienced a whiplash injury in a car accident seven years ago. Since then, he had been suffering from shoulder and neck pain, with restricted movement in his neck, making it challenging for him to look into the car’s rearview mirror. Despite undergoing various treatments, he found little relief from his symptoms.

During my examination, I observed that the muscles in his neck and shoulder felt tense and rigid, akin to solid rock. To address his condition, I employed a comprehensive approach combining strong Tui Na massage, hot moving Cupping, and Acupuncture treatments. Remarkably, even after the first session, H.K. noticed a difference in his symptoms. Over the course of 10 sessions, his shoulder and neck pain subsided, and he regained approximately 90% of his neck’s range of motion.

It is important to note that whiplash injuries not only affect the muscles but also impact the tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and joints. In comparison to other treatment modalities, the combination of Acupuncture, Cupping, Tui Na Massage, and Herbal Medicine treatments has proven to be highly effective for this type of injury. By addressing the multiple layers of tissue involvement, this holistic approach aims to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and promote overall healing and recovery.

Lower Back Pain

a 37-year-old male, had been experiencing persistent lower back pain for a duration of 12 years. The origin of the pain traced back to a Rugby injury he sustained during a forceful collision with another player. Despite undergoing various treatments such as physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic care, and acupuncture, none of them provided lasting relief.

During my examination, I identified that the primary source of his pain was located between the L4/5 inter-spine region. Based on the findings, I diagnosed him with an Inter-Spine Ligament Injury. This type of injury occurs when the spine undergoes a sudden and significant impact, causing the ligament between the two inter-spine structures to become trapped and subsequently damaged. Healing in this area is challenging due to the poor blood circulation, making it difficult for the injury to self-repair. Additionally, conventional treatments, including acupuncture, face difficulty in effectively targeting this specific location.

Employing a specialized acupuncture treatment approach, I initiated a one-month treatment plan for M.D. Remarkably, after the completion of this treatment, the pain that had plagued him for 12 years completely disappeared. This significant improvement demonstrates the efficacy of the tailored acupuncture approach in addressing the unique challenges associated with his Inter-Spine Ligament Injury.

Slipped Disc

D.F., a 27-year-old builder, presented with severe lower back pain and radiating pain down his left leg for a duration of two months. The pain made it difficult for him to walk, bend, and carry out his work duties. An MRI spine scan revealed degeneration of the L4/5 intervertebral disc, with a left posterolateral disc extrusion causing compression and displacement of the descending left L5 nerve root.

Following the diagnosis of a Prolapsed Disc, D.F. underwent various treatments including painkillers, physiotherapy, chiropractic care, and epidural treatment. However, these interventions proved ineffective in providing lasting relief. The hospital recommended surgical intervention, but D.F. expressed his reluctance to undergo surgery and sought an alternative approach.

Upon consulting with me, I initiated a treatment plan consisting of Tui Na Medical Massage, Cupping, and Acupuncture. After just three sessions, D.F. experienced significant improvement. We continued the treatment for a period of two months, during which he achieved full recovery. D.F. successfully returned to his former job and reported feeling well.

In addition to the above case, I have also successfully treated conditions such as Fibromyalgia, as well as muscle, tendon, and ligament injuries using appropriate TCM modalities tailored to each individual’s specific needs.
